Terms of service
1) Eligibility
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old, or you have permission from a parent/guardian.
- The details you provide (including your delivery address) are accurate and kept up to date.
2) Subscriptions, billing, and renewals
Subscription term
Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.
Payment
Payments are taken in advance on a recurring monthly basis. Prices are shown in GBP unless stated otherwise.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices in the future. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice before your next renewal so you can cancel if you do not wish to continue.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, we may retry the payment. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be paused or cancelled.
3) Monthly cut-off date, shipping, and delivery
Cut-off date for the next envelope mailing
To receive the next month’s mailing, you must subscribe and ensure your address details are correct by the 25th of the month.
Any subscription started after the 25th (or address changes made after the 25th) will usually apply to the following month’s mailing.
Dispatch timing
We aim to dispatch monthly mailings in the first week of each month. Exact dispatch dates may vary.
Delivery timeframes
We send our letters with Royal Mail. Delivery times are estimates and can vary due to postal services, seasons, and customs processing for international deliveries. We are not responsible for delays outside of our control.
Address accuracy and changes
You are responsible for providing a correct delivery address and updating it before the monthly cut-off date (the 25th).
If an item is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, you may need to pay re-postage for it to be resent.
International deliveries and customs
For international deliveries, you are responsible for any customs fees, taxes, duties, or import charges applied by your country.
Lost, missing, or damaged post
If you have not received your envelope within 6 weeks we will assess and, where appropriate, offer a resend, replacement, or another reasonable solution. Because contents may be limited, we cannot always guarantee identical replacements.
4) Pause and Cancellations
How to pause or cancel
You can cancel or pause your subscription at any time using your customer portal.
When cancellation takes effect
If you cancel before the 25th of the month, your cancellation will apply to the next month’s mailing and you will not be charged for it.
If you cancel on or after the 25th, your subscription will be cancelled for the month after next (because the next mailing is usually already being prepared), and you may still receive and be charged for the upcoming mailing.
Confirmation
We will confirm cancellation by email. Keep this confirmation for your records.
5) Refunds and your consumer rights
Your legal rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
6) Changes to the subscription
We may make small changes to the items included to keep the subscription enjoyable or due to supplier availability. The overall value and intent will remain consistent.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. The Terms that apply are the ones in effect at the time you place your order, unless the change is required by law.
7) Intellectual property
The content created by midsummer mail club, including the monthly letter, written prompts, and any original designs are protected by intellectual property laws.
From time to time, the subscription may include items created by third parties (for example, stickers or artwork). These items remain the intellectual property of their respective creators and are included with permission or under licence.
You may keep and enjoy all items you receive for personal use. You may not reproduce, resell, distribute, or publish the content (including posting full readable scans of the letter) without permission from the relevant rights holder.
Sharing photos on social media is welcome. Please avoid sharing full readable scans of the letter or any third-party artwork.
8) Liability
We will always do my best to deliver what you’ve purchased and to fix issues fairly if something goes wrong.
We are not responsible for delays or problems caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example, postal delays, strikes, customs delays, or extreme weather).
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under UK consumer law, or any liability that cannot legally be limited.
9) How to contact us
Email: midsummermailclub@gmail.com
We aim to respond within 1–3 working days.
10) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales, unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may also bring proceedings there.
